Very few furniture companies hold stock.

90% of online furniture companies either avoid holding stock, or fail to mention their delivery times. Many will show an item as in stock when in reality it's only in stock with the supplier (who's figures are rarely accurate).

When purchasing from these sites (after doing all your homework) you generally receive a phone call a day or so later, telling you that your item is going to be 2,6,8, 12 weeks away - or worst case discontinued.

This is frustrating for all concerned. When you place an order online you rightly want to know when it's going to arrive! And from our point of view, the last thing we want to do is come to work knowing we have to disappoint all the customers who purchased the previous evening.  Bottom line, if the info isn't there always ask the stock question before placing an order.
