It’s time to invest in a showpiece sideboard! Here are 6 our favourites.
The Christelle Sideboard is made from very heavy mahogany and feels extremely solid. She has six deep, smooth sliding drawers and two cupboard spaces fitted with removable shelves. The one pictured is finished in jet black with a secret lilac interior (did we mention you could choose colours?) and has a slight sheen. The perfect stand alone piece. Quirky yet versatile.
2. The Showstopper
This is Decima, our best-selling long Venetian sideboard. This really is a piece that bridges the gap between old and new, traditional and modern. It’s also a total showstopper, wow-ing us with 150 kgs of antique mirrored glass and champagne trim. The four doors open to reveal a roomy interior fit for all of your crockery and glassware and the central shelves are removable for tall bottles. The three top drawers are velvet lined and perfect for cutlery, coasters and napkins. Clearly a dining room dream, but also ideal for a hallway or lounge.
3. The Parisian Beauty
Probably our favourite of the bunch. Oriane is a long, low and lustrous sideboard in rose-gold. Totally Parisian chic, this stunning piece of furniture is what dreams are made of. Manufactured from solid mahogany she is extremely heavy and robust whilst maintaining all the refined elements you’d expect. The paneled doors open with the use of delicate drop-handles to reveal a spacious interior with removable central shelf. A lovely sideboard or the most gorgeous media unit you can buy.
4. The Bling!
Hiding behind the lavish reflections in this fabulous (if slightly OTT) room is the awesome Jenell mirrored sideboard. At almost 2 meters long the size alone is impressive! She features four cupboard spaces below four smooth sliding drawers all with a push-close mechanism. The gold trimmed paneling gives this piece an alluring Eastern charm. A large range of matching furniture is available.
5. The Smart Scandi
And just like that, we’ve gone all Scandi. This is our favorite Nordic, retro, paired-back (pick an adjective) sideboard of the moment. The Roselma cabinet is a mixture of mango, almond and acacia. And isn’t this combination of sustainable hardwood just a delight?! The grains complement each other beautifully and the antique brass, vintage-inspired metalwork adds design flair. A lovely choice.
6. The Cow
I couldn’t write about showpiece sideboards without including him could I? Ok, so the cow has been around a good few years now. We supplied one to the Big Brother house in 2013 (crikey where are the years going)? But it’s still as amazing as it was then. I know this isn’t the most practical piece of furniture in terms of size (it is absolutely enormous) but don’t be put off by the shape. You’ll be amazed how much you can get in one of these. Every bit of space is accounted for, and the cubby-holes are actually really handy! It’s also TOP quality as you would expect with everything opening and closing with impressively robust hardware.
