Hi! This is a new OTI blog feature called ‘Colour Of The Month’ and just to confuse you, this month’s chosen hue also happens to be, erm, Colour Of The Year.
I know many of you aren’t in love with Ultra Violet – the official Pantone Colour Of The Year 2018. And yes, it probably should have been lilac or peach or something a bit more grown up, but let’s face it – it’s never what we expect. Greenery, Marsala, Radiant Orchid? All very bizarre choices if you ask me. But if you can’t control something you have to embrace it, right? And searching by purple on the website I rediscovered some rare Ultra Violet beauties it’s high time we threw a spotlight on:
Did you know we supply coloured glass panels for anywhere in the home? Splash backs, table tops, headboards? Now you do! These Ultra Violet glass panels feature a beautiful natural swirl and the depth of colour becomes apparent when enhanced with light.
Who wants to be a grown up anyway? Not me. Whether this becomes the main sofa in your bijou cottage, a lounger for your very lucky daughter or a fun addition to the snug or spare room, this super cute purple sofa with lime green legs sticks a big two fingers up at adulthood. Armchair also available.
Whether you opt for a full set around a dining table or just the one under a desk, this exceptional purple acrylic chair is a fun yet luxury Ultra Violet addition to the home.
If the above suggestions are a little too dramatic for your taste you can embrace Ultra Violet with a subtle ceiling pendant. The purple ombre effect of this handblown glass lamp adds a touch of colour to your scheme.
I never miss the opportunity to wheel out Faustine – my all time favourite Out There Interiors exclusive. Perhaps not exactly Ultra Violet (closer to Radiant Orchid?) but I don’t care. I love this piece. And as she is customisable you can have her finished in Ultra Violet if you wish.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little trip down purple lane. More Colour Of The Month in February!
