August: Stuff to Do

modern cocktail display

Roof Terrace Summer Sessions

Seriously, how good do these look?  Get yourself down to Ham Yard Hotel for their fourth floor pop up bar. A series of ‘Summer Sessions’ run throughout August offering some of the finest experimental cocktails. Don’t forget to ogle the fabulous interior (as if you need reminding).

running sexy policeman

Brighton Pride

What more can I say? It’s Brighton Pride this weekend. Get yourself down here for more fun than you can shake a sexy policeman at. The festival, the parade, the pleasure gardens, the village party, the dog show. There’s something for everyone so come celebrate the rainbow.

colourful houses

Notting Hill Carnival

I could have posted a million pics of the actual carnival. But fun as it is, for me the best thing about Notting Hill carnival is ogeling the house porn.  SO many enviable residences, plus loud music, exotic food and an abundance of feather headdresses. What more could you want?

inflateable game show

The Beast!

The Beast is the world’s largest inflatable obstacle course. And it’s coming to Alexandra Palace this Aug! Relive all your 90s gameshow fantasies throwing yourself over 272 metres of craziness. And if this wasn’t fun enough? There is cocktails, craft beer and prosecco on tap! Ah.Ma.Zing. It’s mainly for adults but 11-15 year olds can have a go in the mornings.

flea market

Hackney Flea Market

If Brighton Pride is a bit too colourful for you then you could browse for curiosities at Hackney Flea Market this weekend. Set in Stoke Newington’s Church Street, the market showcases an eclectic plethora of jewellery, fabrics, kitchenalia and (ahem) furniture. Brand spanking new is (obviously) the best, but we do love a bit of history too.
